Hi friend!
I hope you had a wonderful Christmas! 2022 is coming whether we'd like it or not. ;) I think it's so important and helpful to be intentional with what we want to take with us into the new year. And more importantly, what we want to leave behind. For so long I lived haphazardly allowing the years to come and go without a thought, and felt like a pin cushion with what life poked at me!
A few years ago I started picking a 'word of the year' for the new year and it has become a gamer changer for perspective in my life.
I share my word for 2022 and a few other thoughts.
Huge blessings to you this week as you wind down from Christmas, and wind up for the New Year.
Much love,
Dani

Hey friend,
If you ever struggle with feeling crummy about yourself, and who doesn't?! Affirmations are a GREAT tool to use to combat those old beliefs.
Sometimes there is such a disconnect between what we know the Bible says about you, and how you truly feel. I get it, I struggle too. Affirmations can be a game changer and move the needle ever so slightly to help our mind and hearts catch on to the truth.
This is a bonus episode, that basically means it wasn't planned, but episode 9 gave us the idea!
The South African ritual that inspired this whole thing is, "Ubuntu". Ubuntu holds the belief that unity, compassion and affirmation create true change in ourselves and in others. I agree! I have seen it work time and time again.
We created a downloadable worksheet to practice affirmations and to Ubuntu yourself!

Huge blessings and much love,
Dani :)

Hi friend!
Here’s the link to get some powerful affirmations for you!
Wow, this week I learned a powerful life lesson! The story I share illustrates that Romans 2:4 is such a powerful tool and truth to live by! Romans 2:4 says “…the riches of his kindness, forbearance and patience, not realizing that God’s kindness is intended to lead you to repentance?” —Holy moly, and it truly works!
I shared a story of this verse in action. I also shared a story about ‘Ubuntu’—“In certain regions of South Africa, when someone does something wrong, he is taken to the center of the village and surrounded by his tribe for 2 days while they speak of all the good he has done. They believe each person is good, yet sometimes we make mistakes, which is really a cry for help. They unite in this ritual to encourage the person to reconnect with his true nature. The beliefs that unity and affirmation have more power to change behavior than shame and punishment. This is known as Ubuntu - humanity towards others.”
Some powerful resources mentioned:
One of my favorite authors and just all around motivating guys on the planet, Bob Goff says “Next to Grace, I bet God thinks making us need each other was one of his best ideas.”
Let's dig in!
With you,
Dani

Hello my friend!
Christmas & the Holidays can intensify our struggles and trigger grief. Finding gratitude within the season for the little things that bring joy, peace and hope, even through our struggle is the Holy Grail for the season.

Hello my friend! Today's short episode is about the "Messy Middle" we find ourselves in at times. We are all stuck in the middle of some season or circumstance and it can drive us crazy! At times the messy middle can be so frustrating! But there's hope! Remember the story is not over, you have permission to be in process and to keep going--don't quit before the miracle happens!
Ephesians 5:18b "Instead, be filled with the Holy Spirit." TPT says "instead be filled continually with the Holy Spirit."
Much love,
Dani

Jim Beebe LMFT shares more insights about how to live in really uncomfortable situations and emotions you may be struggling with. No matter what you are walking through, there are tools and tactics to help you live well throughout that season.
Sometimes we are so reactive to a situation, it’s good to take a step back and recognize what is truly going on. Jim shares a tool called the “RAIN technique”that helps us get through these tough times and learn how to move forward in a healthy way.
Jim’s quotes from the show:
"That which we resist, persists."
"We are body, soul, spirit. They’re not three separate parts of us, they are all of us. We are all body, all soul and all spirit."
Books mentioned:
Change Your Brain, Change Your Life
Radical Compassion: Learning to Love Yourself and Your World with the Practice of RAIN
Verses mentioned:
2 Corinthians 4:8-9 “We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.”
Matthew 5:45 “He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.”

Conversation w/ Therapist Jim Beebe LMFT. This is part 1 of a conversation with my therapist Jim Beebe who has been a Therapist and working with people for 38 years.
Jim is the real deal and has so much experience and awesome perspective!
My friend, this is one of those episodes you will want to listen to over and over again, and take notes! And maybe even talk it through with a friend!
Jim digs into some practical ways on how to live well when living in really difficult circumstances or when things about ourselves are driving us bonkers! If we are struggling with acceptance of our lives or any part of ourselves or circumstances we may be facing— we are typically caught in a painful cycle of effort, failure and shame. Judging ourselves and/or shaming ourself or others for the struggles will never bring the healing Jesus wants to bring us.
When we begin to accept our life and our stories, that is when God begins to transform our pain into purpose and not just suffering.
But acceptance can be a process. So let's be patient with ourselves through it all.
Verses mentioned:
2 Corinthians 12:8-9 “Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.”
Romans 2:4 “Or do you presume on the riches of his kindness and forbearance and patience, not knowing that God's kindness is meant to lead you to repentance?”
James 1:2 “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds,”
My husband Gary says about Jim - “Jim has a masterful way of giving practical application not just theoretical philosophy.”
Jim’s quotes from the show:
We live in that silent wish, all the while living a duel citizenship between the world as I want it to be and the world that is.
We are all just trying to learn how to live in our life, well. And find love, joy and peace along the way.
We live this side of the veil, we are human… everybody can tell you that they have challenges in their life.
God game us feelings to teach us.
It’s good to be honest with yourself, about yourself.
Judging ourselves will get you to work hard, but it won’t lead you to healing.
Judging yourself for being yourself, will get you no where.
We all are victimized, we have to fight to not be the victim.
Expectations are premeditated resentments.

One of the most impactful books of my life! Bessel explains in detail how we hold trauma in our bodies as well. Bessel Van Der Kulk "The Body Keeps The Score"
Also, I once heard an impactful message by Dallas Willard talking about how just like the Trinity-- The Father, Son and Holy Spirit--We are triune beings as well. We are Body, Mind and Spirit. We are spiritual beings, we are mental beings and we have a physical body. But in the West we tend to separate them out. Sometimes we over emphasize one aspect one way or another. I share a story of a time when I had a crazy panic attack when a woman touched my neck in a kind gesture to pray over me, but because of unresolved trauma I went into straight panic attack. I didn't remember the trauma in my neck until that moment when she touched me. PTSD is very real and very difficult to walk through.
Verses mentioned:
"We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ."-2 Corinthians 10:5
"Or do you show contempt for the riches of his kindness, forbearance and patience, not realizing that God’s kindness is intended to lead you to repentance?" - Romans 2:4
Quotes:
- Sometimes Jesus heals us in a moment, but sometimes Jesus uses a lot of little moments to heal us as well.
- If the Trinity confuses you, you are in good company! But the Trinity is absolutely real.
-Awareness helps us find healing.
-Empathy ushers in healing.
-What is repentance? It's just turning to Jesus.
-Is there something in your life that you need to bring a little more compassion to yourself for?
-You have permission to be complex, welcome to being human. And Jesus loves you because He created you that way.

Things are always popping up in life, like playing the game of Whac-A-Mole. We seem to always have issues popping up out of nowhere at times. I share my thoughts about how to deal with things that tend to take up too much of my brain space. Sometimes our thoughts can hold us hostage, and it's really helpful to bring them to the 'light' and share them with someone. Processing out loud can be so helpful! The power of bringing things in to community and friendships can be so powerful.
Quotes:
-"our brains can be like a dark alley at night, don't go in there alone."
-"we don't have to carry this stuff alone and we are meant to do this life together in community."
Inspiring vere:
Psalm 32:3 "when I kept silent my bones wasted away, through my groaning all day long."

Embracing the reality that difficult situations will not set us ablaze. Sometimes it takes some time and distance from certain situations we walk through to realize He was with us and providing for us through it all.
Proverbs 4:23 “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it."
